ZAP Smart Cars Receive Import Eligibility from DOT

Washington DC July 20, 2005; The AIADA newsletter reported that leading transportation and energy technology firm, ZAP (Zero Air Pollution), announced Tuesday that the 2005 model year Smart Car Fortwo Coupe and Cabriolet have received “import eligible” status from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The DOT approval allows ZAP to fulfill its obligation to U.S. dealers who have been waiting to receive the popular fuel-efficient, compact “green” cars. ZAP recently announced the first deliveries of Smart Cars Americanized by ZAP to dealers in eight states.
