Jeg Coughlin is psyched about Seattle (NHRA/JEG'S)

The fastest naturally-aspirated race cars in the world take their turn at a
track that's tailor-made for them this weekend when the NHRA tour arrives at
Pacific Raceways in Seattle for the annual Carquest NHRA Nationals. One of the
most decorated drivers in class history, Jeg Coughlin, is certainly happy to
be heading to the Great Northwest, especially after a weekend spent gasping
for air in Denver's mile-high climes.

"Pro Stock racing is all about horsepower and there aren't many places on
the POWERade tour better for our style of racing then Pacific Raceways," said
Coughlin, the 2002 event champion. "The more oxygen you have the better the
car's perform and Seattle is pretty close to sea-level and there are trees all
over the place. Plus, the weather is always cool and that helps a bunch.

"I'm really excited about this race. Seattle is one of the most picturesque
cities in the world and little Jeggy is coming with me this trip and he's my
good luck charm so there's lots to look forward to."

Coughlin hasn't won a race in 2005 but his former success in Seattle
combined with crew chief Bob Glidden's record six victories at this facility has him
ready to roll.

"We were intrigued by our performance in Denver," Coughlin said. "Now that
we're back at sea level we should only see improvement. We've established our
Jeg's Mail Order Dodge Stratus R/T as one of the top eight cars in the class.
We're finding consistency and repeatability with our tune-up. If we can just
get on a little roll, we'll start winning."

Currently seventh in the POWERade championship points standings, Coughlin
needs a strong outing in Seattle to close the gap on a breakaway group of five
racers who have distanced themselves from the Pro Stock pack. He is 216 points
 out of the top five.
