TI Automotive Subsidiary to Build in Alabama

WARREN, Mich.--July 20, 2005--Hanil USA, a subsidiary of TI Automotive, is developing a new, multi-million-dollar manufacturing facility in Tallassee, Alabama.

The plant will assemble plastic and steel tube components used in fuel-system assemblies for vehicles produced at a Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama facility in Montgomery, Alabama.

Construction will begin immediately. Hanil is renovating an existing 10,000-square-foot facility and adding 6,500 square-feet with a $2.3-million investment in construction and manufacturing equipment. When completed, the new plant initially will employ 30 people.

"We were impressed with Alabama's state and regional development organizations," said Tony Kwon, president of Hanil USA. "Their teamwork and rapid response time made our decision to locate in the city of Tallassee and Elmore County an easy one."

The decision fits a trend, noted Elmore County Economic Development Authority's executive director Eric Basinger, adding that local organizations have purposely courted technology-based manufacturing companies in an effort to bring quality jobs to the area.

"Tallassee is obviously in need of new jobs for the employees at Mount Vernon Mills," said Mayor Bobby Payne. "In anticipation of the mill closing, we have made every effort to make sure that Hanil would locate their new facility in Tallassee and the timing could not be better."

TI Automotive is the world's leading supplier of fluid storage, transfer and delivery systems including brake, fuel and air conditioning applications. Based in Warren, Mich., the company employs over 20,000 people at more than 130 facilities in 28 countries on six continents.
