CRA SPRINTS RESUME SATURDAY AT PERRIS
JULY 18, 2005
The Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series, idle the past two
weeks to allow participants to compete in USAC's Valvoline "Indiana Sprint
Week" Series, resumes this Saturday night at the Perris (Calif.) Auto
Speedway. A 30-lap feature is scheduled at the 1/2-mile dirt oval.
Defending series titlist Rip Williams continues to lead the
2005 standings, 113 ahead of Damion Gardner, whose record of 13 fast
qualifying times this year is remarkable. Gardner finished second to Cory
Kruseman in Sunday's Valvoline "Indiana Sprint Week" race at Haubstadt, Ind.
Kruseman, who won the Valvoline "Indiana Sprint Week" opener
at North Vernon Thursday as well as Sunday's race at Haubstadt, currently
stands third in the USAC/CRA points going into Saturday's race at Perris.
