'Charity Chopper' Highlights Downtown Fund-Raising Event

Contact: Jeff Worden PPG Industries 412-434-3046 Description: This event will feature the Charity Chopper - brainchild of Perewitz, Ray Evernham, owner of Evernham Motorsports, and PPG. The motorcycle showcases colors from the PPG automotive refinish business' Vibrance Collection of custom finishes and is part of a yearlong fund-raising effort with Evernham's Racing for a Reason foundation to raise awareness and funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It will go up for online auction on eBay Sept. 30. Also featured will be the Vibrance Collection of custom finishes show truck, with a unique paint design created by Larry Wood, chief designer for Hot Wheels, a Mattel, Inc., brand. Fund raising at the event will include poster and T-shirt sales and a raffle with prizes such as a Hines Ward autographed Pittsburgh Steelers football, a Rob Mackowiak autographed Pittsburgh Pirates baseball and four tickets to any Pittsburgh Pirates game Sunday through Thursday in 2005 along with a $50 gift certificate for Poli Restaurant. All proceeds benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Pittsburgh event is part of a national tour of custom car and motorcycle shows and NASCAR events as well as an ongoing fund-raising effort with monthly eBay auctions.
