'Miss Al Deeby Dodge' Wins 'The Thriller on the River' to Take Gold Cup at 2005 Chrysler Jeep Superstores Detroit APBA Gold Cup
Terry Troxell Rides in Glory as Winner of Oldest Trophy in Motor Sports
DETROIT, July 17 -- "Miss Al Deeby Dodge," driven by Terry Troxell of Gig Harbor, Wash., and owned by Dave Bartush of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., won the oldest trophy in motor sports, the American Power Boat Association Gold Cup, at the 2005 Chrysler Jeep Superstores Detroit APBA Gold Cup. The 2005 event marked the start of the second century of Gold Cup competition.
"Miss Al Deeby Dodge" beat stiff competition all weekend long as it held on to win the winner-take-all final heat and capture the Gold Cup at "The Thriller on the River," presented by the Detroit River Regatta Association.
