Hayner Infineon Qualifying Report
Sonoma, Calif. July 16, 2005 Stu Hayner qualified 10th in this
morning in the GMAC Commercial Finance / Trenton Forging #5 GTO for
Round Seven of the SCCA Pro SPEED World Challenge GT race at Infineon
Raceway in Sonoma, California, July 15-17. The GT race runs at 1:05pm
today as part of the Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma Presented by
Ravenswood in conjunction with the American Le Mans Series.
“We’re chasing the track right now,” said Hayner. “The temperatures
are so erratic depending on the time of the day, so it is really hard
to determine the set up you’ll want to have in the race. We’re taking
a conservative approach to the race. It’s going to be a completely
different track by 1pm so I’ve asked the guys to just make the car as
predictable as possible.”
“The Corvettes look really fast,” Hayner continued. “If they can get
the power down… and last, they’re going to be tough to catch. I’m not
sure what’s happening with the Cadillacs, though I expect they’ll be
quicker during the race. We’ll see.”
Hayner and his Autosport Development team want desperately to put the
#5 GTO on the podium. They’re hopeful it will happen here at The
Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma Presented by Ravenswood. The weekend
schedule calls for the SPEED GT race to run Saturday at 1:05pm and
the Touring Car race to run on Sunday at 2:50pm. Both races will air
Sunday, July 17th on SPEED with the GT race at 1:30pm the Touring Car
race at 6pm. All times are EST.

GT Series. All events are nationally televised on SPEED channel
