UPDATE:
A.J. FOYT will also be available for media interviews on Thursday, July
21 at 12:00pm.
Foyt has competed as a driver more times at The Milwaukee Mile than at
any other track in his storied career, and estimated 98 races in
IndyCars, stock cars, midgets and sprint cars.
One of his all-time Milwaukee Mile highlights was in 1965, when he won
the pole position and finished second in an IndyCar race in a dirt champ
car, which at the time was deemed outdated and antiquated compared to
the sleek, rear-engine Indy cars run exclusively on pavement tracks.
The first 4-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 is now a team owner in
the IRL IndyCar Series, fielding a team for his grandson, A.J. Foyt IV.
The ABC Supply / A.J. Foyt 225 is the only event Mr. Foyt has allowed
his name to be used in conjunction with an event. This is the second
year of this appropriate arrangement of the race entitlement.
