Research and Markets: Learn about New advances in Automotive Wipers Technology since 1926

DUBLIN, Ireland--July 13, 2005--Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c20552) has announced the addition of Global Market Review Of Automotive Wiper Systems - Forecasts To 2011 to their offering.

This 2nd edition expands and updates our popular 1st edition, now providing you with more data and increased analysis - fantastic value for your budget.

Extract from the report - Introduction

Making a clean sweep

Superficially, wiper blades appear the same today as they did when the first electrically powered windscreen wiper system appeared in 1926. However, technical advances by the major wiper manufacturers since then have centred on improving two performance characteristics: silence and wiping quality. Yet as manufacturers offer ever more silent and effective wiper systems, they must also make them lighter and intelligent. A major factor affecting the performance of a wiper is the angle of attack between the wiper blade rubber and windscreen. The principle of multi-blade units is to scrub the glass with several blades, each of which applies a different stage of cleaning. Other factors triggering innovation in wiper blades include more complex and intricate glazing designs. As windscreens become larger and more raked, the wiper blades required to service them have also changed. The popularity of SUVs and minivans has also led to longer blades.
