FEV Adds Additional Test Sites and Capabilities
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., July 13 -- FEV Engine Technology has expanded its Detroit-area facilities with the addition of two new powertrain test sites at the company's North American headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The two test areas bring to 18 the total number of fully instrumented engine-development sites.
Representing an investment of more than $2 million, the new sites are fully equipped to conduct engine performance, fuel-economy, mechanical and emissions-development testing for diesel, gasoline and alternative-fuel powertrains.
"We continue to expand our facilities in response to increased demand from new and existing customers," said Gary Rogers, president and CEO of FEV Engine Technology, Inc. "We now have more than 200 employees in Michigan, an increase of nearly 15 percent in the past 12 months."
The test equipment for the new test sites was provided by FEV Test Systems, a world-class provider of turnkey, integrated, powertrain test equipment. The fully instrumented engine dynamometer cells are equipped with the latest hardware and software such as TestCellManager, AirCon, CoolCon, FEV-CAS and TestEnvironmentManager.
"We believe that FEV Test Systems offers excellent, state-of-the-art equipment and turnkey test facilities at very competitive pricing," noted Rogers. "At FEV, we have been designing and developing powertrain technologies for almost 30 years. All of that know-how is now being leveraged to create a new line of powertrain test equipment."
"Our customers can be confident that this equipment can be used effectively in their projects, since they typically have the same requirements that we do. I believe we offer the best value in the business. Test Systems' equipment is continuously optimized and can easily be adapted to specific customer needs through their modular set up."
