New Device Simultaneously Repairs, Inflates Flat Tires
Users benefit from safety and peace of mind on the road
SOUTH BEND, Ind., July 12 -- A new device capable of simultaneously repairing and inflating flat tires enables drivers with flat tires to stay mobile.
The ContiComfortKit from Continental Tire ($75) seals punctures up to a quarter-inch across and inflates tires up to 43 pounds per square inch (PSI). Drivers are then able to travel up to 125 miles at speeds up to 50 mph for proper repairs.
Weighing just 5.5 pounds the device retains vehicle mobility, eliminates the need for explosive cans of flat tire repair and reduces the chances drivers will have to change a tire themselves.
"It is essentially 'extended mobility in a can,'" said Matt Edmonds, vice president of marketing at The Tire Rack. "Changing a tire on the side of the road isn't only dirty, it is dangerous. With this simple all-in-one device, you're safely back on the road in a few minutes."
A 12-volt air compressor is paired with a replaceable cartridge of latex sealant in a single, compact package that fits in any vehicle. The system is compatible with tires up to 22-inches in diameter, including run flats, and won't damage direct tire pressure monitoring system components.
A lighted air pressure gauge, backlit operating instructions and a flashlight offer safe nighttime operation. After use, a new latex cartridge, air hose and adapter kit ($25) restores readiness.
Both the ContiComfortKit and replacement parts are available at www.tirerack.com/cck or by calling 888-541-1777.
