MIDGETS PREPARING FOR MILWAUKEE MILE
WISE, STEELE TAKE OHIO MAIN EVENTS
Josh Wise of Riverside, Calif. will lead the USAC National
Midget Car Series to the famed Milwaukee Mile in Wisconsin Aug. 22-23,
leading defending series champion Bobby East by 67 points after a pair of
races in Ohio last weekend.
A 30-mile feature event is planned at the one-mile paved oval
where J.J. Yeley triumphed in 2004.
Wise and Dave Steele of Tampa, Fla. captured feature events in
Ohio, Wise taking Friday night's 30-lap "Hemelgarn Racing Night" race at
Toledo Speedway and Steele winning Saturday night's 30-lapper at Mansfield
Motorsports Speedway. Both drivers led wire-to-wire in posting their victories.
Trailing Wise's Mopar/Vital Express Beast were Steele, East,
fast qualifier Jerry Coons, Jr. and Ron Gregory. Steele's Mopar/West Coast
Roofing & Waterproofing Beast was followed at Mansfield by Michael Lewis,
East, Cole Carter and Coons.
