Weekend Motorsports roundup

Hey there!

Long time, no speak . . . finally emerging from the boxes and such in our new abode in Wellington, FL. For those of you unfamiliar with this area, just think Polo . . . yup, smack dab in the middle of horse country. I'm sure Ralph Lauren and his cronies live somewhere around here, but I doubt I'll run into them at the local Publix! Actually, we're 8 miles west of West Palm Beach, around 15 minutes from Moroso Motorsports park.

By the way, saw the new Herbie movie . . . lots of fun, and SOOOO many Head Start Caps hats in it!

Lots of great racing going on, particularly the MotoGP round that ran this week at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, so I'll get right to it:

MotoGP @ MR Laguna Seca - On their home turf, Americans finished 1-2, with Nicky Hayden, Repsol Team Honda, stepping up to take his first MotoGP win, which was also the first win for Honda @ Laguna. Colin Edwards finished second on a Yamaha.

NASCAR @ Chicagoland Speedway - It was just a matter of time . . . After finishing third last week, Dale Earnhardt Jr, driving the Budweiser Chevy, won his first race of the year, the Nextel Cup Series USG Sheetrock 400. In Saturday's Busch Series USG Durock 300, Kevin Harvick, driving the Reese's Chevrolet, took the win.

NASCAR @ Kentucky Speedway - Dennis Setzer proved that it's sometimes better to be lucky than good, as he won the Craftsman Truck Series Built Ford Tough 225 pres. by Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers, his third win in the last four races.

F1 @ Silverstone - Juan Pablo Montoya, driving the Mercedes McLaren, won the British Grand Prix.

CCWS @ Toronto - The Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford series was in Canada for the Molson Indy Toronto this week. Justin Wilson, driving the RuSport Lola-Ford, won his first race in the series, and the first for his team.
