7-Eleven, Inc. Reports June 2005 Sales Results; U.S. Same-Store Merchandise Sales Rise 5.9 Percent

DALLAS, July 11 -- 7-Eleven, Inc. , today reported June 2005 sales results. Total June 2005 sales were $1,146.8 million, an increase of 9.1 percent over June 2004 sales of $1,051.3 million. Total merchandise sales for June 2005 were $734.4 million, an increase of 6.9 percent over the June 2004 total of $687.0 million. U.S. same-store merchandise sales for June 2005 increased 5.9 percent, on top of a 5.5 percent increase in June 2004.

Gasoline sales for June 2005 were $412.4 million, a 13.2 percent increase compared to $364.3 million in the prior-year period. Average gallons sold per store increased 4.1 percent in June 2005 compared to an increase of 2.3 percent in June 2004. The average retail price of a gallon of gasoline for June 2005 was $2.19, compared to $2.01 in June 2004.

Year-to-Date Results

The results below compare year-to-date results through June 2005 to the same period last year:

   *  U.S. same-store merchandise sales have grown 4.8 percent, on top of
      6.6 percent for 2004.
   *  Merchandise sales total $4,029.3 million, an increase of 5.3 percent.
   *  Gasoline sales total $2,320.2 million, an increase of 14.9 percent.
   *  Average gallons sold per store have increased 0.8 percent, on top of
      6.3 percent for 2004.
   *  The average retail price of a gallon of gasoline is $2.10, compared to
      $1.83 in 2004.

  Second Quarter 2005

7-Eleven, Inc. will release financial results for its second quarter ended June 30, 2005, before the market opens on Tuesday, July 26, 2005. U.S. Same-Store Merchandise Sales Calculation

When determining the same-store merchandise sales calculation, the company includes the merchandise sales of both its U.S. company-owned and franchise- operated stores if they were operating for all days of the periods being compared. New stores, relocated stores or rebuilt stores are not included in the same-store sales calculation until they have recorded merchandise sales for all days of the periods being compared.
