Milwaukee, Wis. (July 5, 2005) - IRL IndyCar Series driver Patrick
Carpentier will be in Milwaukee this Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m.,
skating with Olympic skaters at the Pettit National Ice Center.
Carpentier, a competitive speed skater as a youth, will "race" four-time
Olympic speed skater Dave Cruickshank, two-time Olympian Dave Tamburrino
and future U.S. Olympians on the 400-meter oval at The Pettit.
Carpentier drives the No. 83 Red Bull Cheever Racing
Dallara/Toyota/Firestone, and holds the all-time track speed record at
The Milwaukee Mile, with a qualifying lap of 185.500 mph. He'll be
competing against fellow Indy 500 drivers Dan Wheldon, Danica Patrick
and others in the July 22-24 ABC Supply / A.J. Foyt 225 race weekend.
Carpentier will be skating at The Pettit from 10:30 a.m. until noontime,
when he will be available for one-on-one's in the Milton Peck Media
Center inside The Milwaukee Mile.
Also on Thursday, third generation racer Marco Andretti will be testing
for Duesenberg Racing in preparation for his debut in the Milwaukee 100
IRL Menards Infiniti Pro Series race. Series point leader Wade
Cunningham will also be available, as they gear up to run the Milwaukee
100 at 12:00 p.m. CST on Sunday, July 24, as a precursor to the 1:30
p.m. green flag on the ABC Supply / A.J. Foyt 225 IRL IndyCar Series
race.
