TriMas Corporation's Cequent Towing Products Moving Elkhart, Ind. Operations to Goshen, Ind. Manufacturing Center
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., July 5 -- TriMas Corporation announced today that it plans to move the plastics fabricating process at its Cequent Towing Products business unit, part of the Cequent Transportation Accessories operating group of TriMas, currently located in Elkhart, Ind., to the Goshen, Ind. Manufacturing Center approximately 25 miles away.
"Redundancy and excess manufacturing capacity, coupled with the opportunity to maximize the manufacturing space available in the Goshen facility, prompted this decision," said Edward Schwartz, Cequent group president. "The Goshen manufacturing site has also established a 'clean room' to produce this new product line."
The transition of work will begin immediately and is expected be completed by Aug. 1, 2005. This action will affect approximately 12 employees. To reduce the impact of this decision on the Elkhart employees, the company will provide opportunities for these employees at the Goshen Manufacturing Center.
