Detroit Economic Club Announces Board of Directors Changes

DETROIT, July 5 -- The Detroit Economic Club (DEC) announces the following changes/additions to its Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2005:

* Dr. Dieter Zetsche, President & CEO, DaimlerChrysler, ends his term as Chairman, Detroit Economic Club. Dr. Zetsche will remain on the board of directors and the executive committee.

* Mr. William Clay Ford, Jr., Chairman and CEO, Ford Motor Company, becomes Chairman, Detroit Economic Club, for a two year term.

The following individuals were elected by the membership to join the Board of Directors, Detroit Economic Club:

  *  J. Michael Davis, President & CEO, National City Bank, Michigan
  *  Mark Hoppe, President & CEO, Standard Federal Bank
  *  Andrew N. Liveris, CEO, Dow Chemical
  *  Sandra Pierce, President & CEO, Charter One Bank, Michigan
  *  Douglas Steenland, President & CEO, Northwest Airlines Corporation
