2006 VW Passat TDI Wagon NOT Coming to the US?

I received a call from Dick Hannah VW in Vancouver, WA telling that VW 
will not be importing the 2006 Passat TDI Wagon into the US, at all, 
never mind sometime in the first quarter of 2006.  I queried VW USA and 
they had not comment.  Very strange.  Can someone please check this out 
or is it old news?  This may or may not include the new Jetta TDI as 
well.
