MARTZ LEADS MIDWEST FOCUS CONTINGENT INTO WEEKEND; SHARES WEEKEND SPOTLIGHT WITH WUERDEMAN





Coming off his fourth USAC Midwest Ford Focus Midget Car Series victory of
the 2005 season on Saturday, Tate Martz of Rushville, Ind. leads the
contingent into back-to-back dirt races this Friday and Saturday.

Friday’s event is slated at Gas City I-69 Speedway in Gas City, Ind., while
Saturday’s race is scheduled for Red Hill Raceway in Sumner, Ill.

Martz won one of this weekend’s two races, while Ronnie Wuerdeman of
Cincinnati, Ohio triumphed in the other. Wuerdeman drove his No. 33
Hawk/Ford Focus to victory at Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia, Ohio, leading the
final 20 laps of the contest ahead of Brandon Hartsell, James Robertson,
Martz and Derek Fisher.

Martz drove to victory in Saturday’s 30-lapper at Columbus Motor Speedway in
Columbus, Ohio, leading the final seven laps after passing Hartsell for the
point. Following Martz’s No. 1 Beast/Ford Focus were Hartsell, who led the
first 23 laps, Stephanie Mockler, Fisher and Brandon Wagner.

Martz continues to lead Mockler in the standings, now by 47 points, heading
into Friday’s event.
