DON SCHUMACHER RELEASES LEE BEARD

INDIANAPOLIS (June 27, 2005) - Don Schumacher today released Funny Car crew
chief Lee Beard from his contract with Don Schumacher Racing.

"Lee Beard remains a good friend and fishing partner of mine," said
Schumacher, "but I felt it was appropriate to allow him to pursue other
opportunities as a first-class tuner. We have enjoyed a long and successful
relationship and everyone at Don Schumacher Racing wishes him continued
success in the future."
