ALL AT BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY ON JULY 1

BLOOMINGTON, IN (June 26) - On July 1, Bloomington Speedway will feature our three regular classes - sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. modifieds, and Tire & Wheel Center super stocks. In addition, we'll have a spectacular ariel fireworks display courtesy of Bloomington Powersports. To make this even a better deal for the fans, discount coupons will be available at Karton King Stores while supplies last..

Mike and Judy Miles have pulled out all of the stops to make this one of the best shows of the year by running all three of our regular classes along with the spectacular fireworks display.

With all of the weather related problems that we've had, each race makes a bigger difference in the points race. Each driver will be doing everything in their power to insure that they get everything possible out of their car each night. Last Friday night we had a rare winged sprint car show. Some of them took the night off or raced elsewhere; but several of them, including Kevin Briscoe, Brad Sweet, Dick Gaines II, Ty Deckard, Tom Busch, Jared Fox, and Steve Rone, bolted on a set of wings to keep accustomed to the red clay.

So far this season Dick Gaines II, Kent Christian, and Kevin Briscoe have found their way to victory lane in the sprint car division. However, Josh Cunningham very nearly won the feature a couple of weeks ago; and there are several others who are a threat to win every week. They will all be trying to do just a little better for the huge crowds that can be expected to assemble on July 1.

Jesse Cramer seems to be the man to beat in the O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept modified division. Of course, Shelby Miles, Clint & John DeMoss as well as a whole host of other modified drivers.will be on hand in search of another feature win.

Danny Harris, Ben DuBois, Jeremy Hines, and Chris Hillman have each won a feature in the Tire & Wheel Center super stock division; however, there have been several other drivers who have run consistently well in the super stocks. They too can be expected to put in a good show on July 1.

As competitive as our regular drivers are, the real star of a Bloomington Speedway racing program is the track itself. Just about everyone who comes to Bloomington Speedway for the first time raves about the beautifully manicured racing surface. The rest of the facility is equally well-kept; and the view from the grandstand is simply beautiful.

Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $10 for this event; and pit admission is $20. Children are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult. Overnight camping is permitted. Coolers are allowed; but no glass containers please.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JULY 8, 2005

MODIFIED WOLFPACK CHALLENGE

SPRINT CARS

TIRE & WHEEL CENTER SUPER STOCKS TOO

BLOOMINGTON, IN (June 26, 2005) - Bloomington Speedway will host another night of exciting racing action on Friday, July 8. The evening's racing will feature O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. modifieds in the Modified Wolfpack Challenge and Tire & Wheel Center super stocks.

The Modified Wolfpack Challenge is in its fourth season; but they will be making their third appearance on the red clay of Bloomington Speedway. And, like most series of this kind, it has gotten better each season. However, unlike most series, there are literally hundreds of modified competitors who will be anxious to test themselves against the best. Just about all area modifieds have been built to conform with UMP rules. This is intended to give eligibility to the most teams while keeping the competition equal. This should fill the pits to overflowing for this special event.

As our regular fans know, some of the best modiied drivers in the state regularly compete on the red clay of Bloomington Speedway each Friday night. Our regulars should have an edge on the visiting stars at least in the preliminaries. However, the visitors will learn to read the track; the feature should, indeed, be a race to remember. Last Friday night the first four modifieds crossed the finish line in a cluster.

The O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. modified points leaders are Jesse Cramer, Gary Barrow, Shelby Miles, John DeMoss, J.P. Hume, Ray Humphrey, Lee Hobbs, Clint DeMoss, Rodney Harris, Jr., and Greg Deckard. Any of these guys are capable of winning any time their cars roll onto the track. While they probably have an edge on the visiting stars, some of the visitors see enough different tracks that they'll probably be able to adapt pretty quickly. And, one of the best probable visitors, Dan Hamstra, has competed at Bloomington Speedway often over the years.

Don't miss this exciting night of racing!!!!

There should be plenty of Tire & Wheel Center super stocks too as their will be an extra $500 in their purse. The winner will earn $600 with proper decals

Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $10 for this event (children 12 and under are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult); and pit admission is $25. Coolers are permitted; but glass containers aren't. Overnight camping is also permitted.
