Hayner Cleveland Qualifying Report

GMAC / Trenton Forging #5 GTO Cleveland Qualifying Report

Hayner Fast in Morning Qualifier… will start 10th

Cleveland – June 26, 2005 The #5 GMAC Commercial Finance / Trenton
Forging GTO, driven by Stu Hayner, will start 10th in Sunday’s SPEED
World Challenge GT race at Cleveland’s Burke Lakefront Airport. The
SPEED World Challenge Series is part of the Grand Prix of Cleveland
along with the Champ Car Series.

“We’ve got a good car,” said Hayner. “Our qualifying time is right up
there with the lead pack. And it’s a time I know we can go out and
run all day. Tire wear is going to be a big issue… and we’ll be
running on the track late in the day, after the Champ Car main event.
It’s going to be important to manage the tires.”

“I’m not sure that we’ll make any changes between now and the start,”
Hayner continued. “We’ll sit down, talk about how the car handled and
what changes might occur with track conditions. But, all in all, I
think we’ve got a very competitive car and I’m confident we can put
ourselves in a position to win.”

Hayner has enjoyed top 5 finishes in previous appearances at the
Grand Prix of Cleveland including his last appearance driving the #2
GMAC Commercial Finance Corvette with Don Sak’s Revolution
Motorsports. Hayner came from last place to passing the entire field,
including race leader, Scott Pruett, to finish the day in 5th. It was
a remarkable drive that had the Cleveland fans on their feet.

The Cleveland Grand Prix schedule calls for the SPEED Touring Car
race to run on Saturday at 5:45pm and the GT race to run Sunday at
4pm. The Touring Car race will air Sunday at 4pm and the GT race will
run one-hour tape delayed at 5pm, on SPEED.
