Tony Pedregon Wraps Up 11th
Q Racing Funny Car To Open Against Bazemore

MADISON, Ill. (June 25, 2005) ­ Tony Pedregon, driver of the Q Racing Nitro
Funny Car, grabbed the 11th-qualifying position for tomorrow¹s NHRA National
Event at Gateway International Raceway.

Pedregon maneuvered his Q Racing machine to a 4.902-second elapsed time at
314.97 mph. The team made various adjustments to compensate for the hot
summer temperatures at the suburban St. Louis quarter mile.

³We knew we had to make a good run on that last one,² Pedregon said. ³We¹re
a young team, but there¹s still some pressure on us. (Crew chief) Dickie
Venables really came through tonight and we did what we had to do.

³We¹re looking for a good day tomorrow,² Pedregon continued. ³We think we
found something this weekend and I¹m confident in how we¹ll perform.²

Pedregon will face off against Whit Bazemore in tomorrow¹s first round of
eliminations, which start at 4:30 pm, Central.
