New Battery Powered Safety Flare Replacing Road Flares Nationwide
NIWOT, Colo., June 24 -- Road flares are dangerous, just ask anybody who has used one. Road flares can easily ignite spilled gasoline and burn the clothes or skin of even the most experienced user. Road flares can trigger massive brush and forest fires and have the potential to contaminate ground water supplies. Battery powered LED devices are replacing these fire- starting relics nationwide.
One such device, the FlareAlert (http://www.flarealert.com/) developed by The Keystone Group, has been sold to police and fire departments across the country. The FlareAlert contains twelve high-output LED's which make the unit visible for miles from both the ground and air. However, unlike other battery powered safety flares, the FlareAlert has a built-in magnetic base which allows the unit to be temporarily mounted on a disabled vehicle for increased visibility.
"It's the easiest decision you'll ever make," says Keystone Group President Steve Jones. "There are no drawbacks to using the FlareAlert; it is affordable, crush and water resistant, safe to use near flammables, it makes motorists highly visible in the dark and it's environmentally friendly."
While it may be only a matter of time before traditional road flares become banned, many police and fire departments are not waiting to get on board with these safer flares. Because police departments go through hundreds of thousands of road flares each year, switching to a reusable unit can save them thousands of dollars per year.
FlareAlert is currently available in red and yellow. Carry Cases and Landing Zone Kits are also available. For more information, or to purchase the FlareAlert, visit the Keystone Group at http://www.flarealert.com/ or call 888-652-6164.
