Total Parts Plus Increases RoHS Data Coverage
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla., June 22 -- Total Parts Plus' material content database has expanded its coverage for electronic and non- electronic components to more than 2.5 million part numbers. Data coverage includes full and partial content information, Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliancy flags, lead-free identification, exemption tracking, compliant alternates, tin whiskering data and reflow temperature.
As the July 1, 2006 deadline for the European Union's RoHS directive approaches, OEMs in the electronic industry will need to ensure that all components in any products shipped to Europe are free of six banned hazardous materials, which include lead.
Total Parts Plus has been collecting material content data since the announcement of the European Directives and has added RoHS compliancy flags to its material disclosure information to help manufacturers identify compliant replacements quickly.
"Having material content on more than 2 million electronic and non- electronic components allows us to better serve our customers in meeting their compliancy goals and reporting requirements," said Todd Montgomery, Total Parts Plus Vice President & General Manager. "As the deadline approaches, we understand the importance of helping our customers identify and locate compliant parts quickly and efficiently, and we're doing just that."
Total Parts Plus remains an industry leader in content collection and standardization, and uses ISO certified production models for data aggregation and meeting ANSI quality standards.
