Continental Automotive Systems Comments on NHTSA Announcement; Offers News Package Via Satellite Today, June 22

Continental Automotive Systems is delighted to see the latest announcement from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and its evaluation that Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is adding to the increased safety of vehicles. As ESC becomes more available we expect these results will get even better.

ESC is making vehicles, particularly sport utility vehicles (SUVs) more stable and less prone to rollover. In recent months, ESC has become available in many new vehicles including:

  * 2005 GM standard on all its vehicles by 2010
  * 2004 Chrysler standard on select SUVs
  * 2004 Ford standard on select SUVs
  * 2003 Honda standard on light trucks
  * 2003 Toyota standard on SUVs
  *  1999 Mercedes standard
  *  1998 BMW standard

Continental Automotive Systems, a leading supplier of automotive safety technologies and the first company to make ESC available to mass markets.
