MARTZ LEADS MIDWEST FOCUSES TO BUCKEYE SWING
USAC Midwest Ford Focus Midget Car Series points leader Tate Martz of
Rushville, Ind. will lead the series through the Buckeye State for the next
two races, set for this weekend.
The series will attempt Friday for A third time to compete at Kil-Kare
Speedway in Xenia, Ohio after inclement weather last year forced two
cancellations. The Focuses will also run Saturday at Columbus Motor Speedway
in Columbus, where Martz scored a record-setting fourth straight Ford Focus
victory last June.
Martz has won three of the series’ six events this season, including the
last event on the schedule June 11 at Kalamazoo, Mich. He leads Stephanie
Mockler by 27 points heading into the weekend’s events.
