ANDERSEN RETURNS HOME TO POST NORTHEAST FOCUS; STEVENS TAKES POINTS LEAD

New Englander Brit Andersen of Branford, Conn. triumphed Saturday for the
first time in his USAC Northeast Ford Focus Midget Car Series career,
leading the final eight laps at Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Mass.

Andersen, who two days earlier finished third in a USAC Carolina/Virginia
Ford Focus race in Hickory, N.C., took the lead from Stephanie Stevens and
led Stevens, Michael Sboro, Jeff Abold and Dana Messier to the stripe in the
25-lapper. Stevens, Sboro and Ryan Osborne shared time on the point before
Andersen coveted the spot on Lap 18.

Stevens grabbed the series points lead from Ryan Smith, the season opening
race winner who finished sixth. She leads Sboro by four points as the series
continues action July 9 at Oswego Speedway in Oswego, N.Y.
