Bloomington Speedway -- June 24 and July 1 Racing

WINGS OVER BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY ON JUNE 24
BLOOMINGTON, IN (June 19, 2005) - The DUCK, WQKC 92.7 & J.D. Byrider are joining forces to bring us an evening of great racing on June 24. In addition to the racing, our friends at The DUCK and J.D. Byrider usually bring along some goodies that provide something extra for our fans. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy the evening with these fun folks.
Bloomington Speedway fans will get the opportunity to see cars and drivers that seldom appear at Bloomington Speedway. Winged sprint car racing has pretty much become the province of traveling series'. The Mid American Sprint Series (MASS) is one of the newer of those series. Because the series is affordable for the competitors, they have a strong following of enthusiastic young racers who run with them regularly. At last report the top ten in MASS points were Kelly Kinser, Kurt Winker, Chuck Wilson, Bruce Robenault, Patrick Haynes, Cory Bevard, Ron Blair, Eddie Lynch, Jeff Davis, and Tom Busch.
Kelly Kinser lives in Bloomington and he always enjoys the opportunity to run in front of his friends and neighbors. He said as much last Friday night while he was visiting with Pat and Brad in the announcers' booth. In addition to Kelly, Tom Busch regularly competes on the red clay. Kevin Briscoe, Kevin :"Pup" Huntley, and a number of other Bloomington Speedway regulars are likely to strap on a wing to take on the visitors. Don't miss the excitement that they produce.
The heavy red clay of Bloomington Speedway presents a genuine challenge to the winged drivers. Big budgets won't carry the day at Bloomington. By feature time at many tracks, the track has taken rubber; and there is only one groove. Mike Miles is determined not to let that happen at Bloomington Speedway. It is our intention that side by side racing be the order of the night until the final checkered flag has waved.
The winged sprinters will be running for $2500 to win and $250 to start the feature event.
The O'Neal Wood Products modifieds and the Tire & Wheel Center super stocks will also be in competition. Their features will pay $600 to win with proper decals.
Whatever happens, it should be a great night of racing at Bloomington Speedway.
Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $15 for this event; and pit admission is $25. Children are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult. Overnight camping is permitted. Coolers are allowed; but no glass containers please.

BLOOMINGTON, IN (June 19) - On July 1, Bloomington Speedway will feature our three regular classes - sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. modifieds, and Tire & Wheel Center super stocks. In addition, we'll have a spectacular ariel fireworks display courtesy of Bloomington Powersports. To make this even a better deal for the fans, discount coupons will be available at Karton King Stores while supplies last..
Mike and Judy Miles have pulled out all of the stops to make this one of the best shows of the year by running all three of our regular classes along with the spectacular fireworks display.
With all of the weather related problems that we've had, each race makes a bigger difference in the points race. Each driver will be doing everything in their power to insure that they get everything possible out of their car each night. Kevin Briscoe got back in victory lane last Friday while Kent Christian and Dick Gaines II already had feature wins to their credit. Of course there are other drivers who have run consistently well in the sprint division. They will all be trying to do just a little better for the huge crowds that can be expected to assemble on July 1.
Jesse Cramer seems to be the man to beat in the O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept modified division. Of course, Shelby Miles, Clint & John DeMoss as well as a whole host of other modified drivers.will be on hand in search of another feature win.
Danny Harris, Ben DuBois, and Jeremy Hines have each won a feature in the Tire & Wheel Center super stock division; however, there have been several other drivers who have run consistently well in the super stocks. They too can be expected to put in a good show on July 1.
As competitive as our regular drivers are, the real star of a Bloomington Speedway racing program is the track itself. Just about everyone who comes to Bloomington Speedway for the first time raves about the beautifully manicured racing surface. The rest of the facility is equally well-kept; and the view from the grandstand is simply beautiful.
Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $10 for this event; and pit admission is $20. Children are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult. Overnight camping is permitted. Coolers are allowed; but no glass containers please.
