PIERCE, CLEMONS, ARMSTRONG TAKE 50-LAP SPEEDROME RACES; NUETZEL TAKES
REGIONAL POINTS LEAD

Aaron Pierce of Muncie, Ind. and Dakoda Armstrong of New Castle, Ind. became
first-time winners this season during the “Thursday Night Thunder” series at
the Blossom Chevrolet Indianapolis Speedrome, while Josh Clemons of
Greenfield, Ind. continued his dominance at the 1/5-mile track.

Pierce, driving the No. 95 Jerry Covington-owned Sam Pierce Chevrolet/Tom
Cherry Muffler Beast/Pink Chevy, led the final 31 laps of the USAC Speedrome
Regional Midget Car Series feature after passing early leader Cameron
Dodson. Dodson, who led the opening 19 laps, finished second ahead of Rex
Norris III, Bobby Smith and Adam Nuetzel. Nuetzel claimed the series point
lead after co-leaders Brad Kuhn and Nick Bohanon were involved in a
late-race incident. The three are now separated by seven points.

Clemons, in the No. 71 Clemons Hauling Kenyon/Ford Focus, took the lead on a
restart following a caution period involving early leader John Mount. It was
Clemons’ third victory of the year, and he led points leader Jamie Williams,
Norris, Kyle Robbins and Jodi Meyers across the stripe. Clemons pulled to
within 29 points of Williams heading into the next event.

Armstrong, in the No. 1 Armstrong Farms/Bunge Kenyon/Yamaha, took the lead
from Lindsay Throckmorton on Lap 22 after Throckmorton spun. He held off
teammate Bryan Clauson, Thomas Hennigan, Brent Beauchamp and Jordan
Pennington. Jonathan Hendrick, who finished sixth, still holds a 12-point
lead over Armstrong, who is searching for a repeat championship.

The next edition of “Thursday Night Thunder,” presented by Traderindiana.com
and Wheels & Deals, comes next Thursday, June 23, at the Blossom Chevrolet
Indianapolis Speedrome.
