Greg Mattix Joins CTA Acoustics as Vice President - Building Products

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., June 16 -- CTA Acoustics is growing and expanding into new markets, and that includes its management staff. The company announced today that Gregory W. Mattix has joined CTA Acoustics as Vice President - Building Products. The announcement was made by James J. Pike, CEO of CTA Acoustics.

Mattix, 52, is a veteran in the Building Materials Industry with more than 25 years experience with major insulation manufacturers. In his new role with CTA Acoustics, he will oversee the marketing, sales and product development efforts as the company grows their presence in the Building Materials markets.

The company, with facilities in Corbin, KY, manufactured the premier textile fiberglass insulation for sheet metal duct liner applications for over 30 years prior to a plant fire in 2003. "CTA is moving aggressively to become the preferred supplier of acoustical and thermal insulation products to the HVAC/Mechanical/OEM market segments. The addition of Greg to our management team is a major step in realizing our company's aggressive growth plans," said Pike.

Prior to joining CTA Acoustics, Mattix was Marketing Manager for CertainTeed Corporation in Valley Forge, Pa. Mattix joined CertainTeed in 1994 and held various positions in sales and marketing. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt and was instrumental in developing marketing programs and innovative new products for the HVAC, Mechanical and OEM insulation markets enabling CertainTeed to achieve record sales and margin growth.

From 1977 until 1991, Mattix held various domestic and international sales positions for Owens Corning Fiberglas, Toledo, OH. He was Market Development Manager and spent 3 years working abroad in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

A native of the Chicago area, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Management and Marketing from Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL, in 1974. Mattix is General Secretary of West-Mont United Soccer Association and has coached youth soccer for the last 11 years. He and his wife, Cheri, and family will be relocating to Washington, MI, in the near future.

Based in Madison Heights, Mich., CTA Acoustics is a privately held, full- service supplier of acoustical and thermal insulation products for the building and automotive industry and is the only company in its industry segment developing and producing its own materials for engine compartment, interior and industrial applications.
