America's national energy policy must include provisions that will accelerate the use of battery, hybrid and fuel cell electric drive vehicles by consumers and fleets, hasten progress toward the adoption of fuel cell technology, and ultimately, make sustainable mobility a reality in the United States. Throughout the morning, EDTA members will hear from Congressional and Administration leaders who will provide insights into the policy and politics that are driving Washington's approach to transportation. Assistant Secretary of Energy David Garman, Senators Hatch and Wyden, and Congressman Doolittle are key energy and transportation policy leaders who are uniquely qualified to discuss opportunities and obstacles to transforming the nation's transportation sector with cleaner, more efficient electric drive technologies.
