HONDA/MICHELIN SERIES RETURN TO MOSPORT FOR THE NEXT EXCITING ROUND

Montreal, Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - The Honda/Michelin Challenge
Series returns to Mosport Friday June 17 for Round 3 of the 2005
schedule. Barely six days after a grueling action-packed Canadian
Grand Prix support event in Montreal, the series' drivers will face
each other again on the challenging 3.957 km Mosport International
Raceway road course.

In last Saturday's Montreal race, Nick Wittmer took the win vaulting
him to third place in the series standings. He now has 58 points and
is within striking distance of series leader Didier Schraenen with 65
points. Wittmer dominated the race in his de Sigi Autosport sponsored
Honda Civic DX Coupe. He led all 14 laps of the race, never being
passed. This was a dramatic improvement over his seventh place finish
in the Series opening race in May. Schraenen had hoped to achieve
his dream of winning in Montreal but instead finished third. He will
have another chance to win August 28 when the series returns to
Montreal for the Montreal Molson Indy race weekend. Schraenan still
leads the standings by one point over Steven Laporte. Laporte, last
year's series winner, now with 53 points, brought home his Lombardi
Racing Honda in the runner-up position for the second consecutive
race. Alex Penfold of Georgetown (ON) had another good race with a
second consecutive fourth-place finish. However, the Pfaff Leasing
Honda driver was unhappy with his performance in Montreal, and was
unable to fight for the lead. He's currently fourth in the series
with 54 points.

Four points back in the championship, is Kuno Wittmer. In the race he
was plagued with problems in qualifying and although these were fixed
in time for the race, he had to fight back from ninth on the grid and
only managed fifth place. Robert Boyer was a threat to win, running
third and hounding his Lombardi teammate Laporte, but a brush with
the wall forced him to retire with three laps to go. As a result,
Boyer fell to seventh in the series with 43 points and remains six
points behind his brother Normand. Matt Champagne of Fonthill (ON)
was sixth in Montreal and still leads the rookie standings.

Action at Mosport begins this weekend at 4:20 p.m. with a practice
session. On Saturday June 18, the drivers will participate in a
thirty minute qualifying session for Sunday's sixteen lap race. That
race is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m.
