Bobby Labonte Back in No. 47 Chevrolet Silverado at Michigan

Bobby Labonte Back in No. 47 Chevrolet Silverado at Michigan
Texas Native Looking for Second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Win

Brooklyn, MI JUNE 14, 2005; Bobby Labonte will drive the No. 47 Chevrolet Silverado at
Michigan International Speedway (MIS) in the Paramount Heath Insurance 200.
The June 18, 2005, race will be the 2000 NASCAR Cup Series champion’s third
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) race of the season. In his two previous
starts, Labonte finished second in March at Atlanta Motor Speedway and captured
his first NCTS victory at Martinsville in April.
"I'm excited to get a chance to drive the No. 47 Chevrolet Silverado at
Michigan,?? Labonte said. “I really like working with Randy Goss and all the guys
at Morgan-Dollar Motorsports (MDM). We had a lot of fun at Atlanta and
Martinsville and, hopefully, we can do well at Michigan. I've always liked racing
at Michigan. It's my favorite track on the schedule, so it's a going to be a
pretty neat deal to be able to run in the Silverado on Saturday and then in
our Interstate Batteries Monte Carlo on Sunday. We'll also be in the Busch
race at Michigan in the fall, in our Eckrich car for ConAgra Foods, so to get to
do four races at Michigan in one year is pretty cool. I'm looking forward to
it."
With the victory in March, Labonte became the first driver in NASCAR history
to win a race in each of the top-three major divisions at Martinsville. A
trip to the NCTS victory lane Saturday will give Labonte that record at MIS as
well.
The Corpus Christi, Texas, native has one NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) win and
three NASCAR NEXTEL (NNCS) Cup Series wins at the 2-mile superspeedway
located in the Irish Hills of South-Central Michigan.
In 30 NBS and NNCS, Labonte’s MIS record is nothing short of amazing. He
has four wins, three poles, nine top-three, 12 top-five and 20 top-10 finishes.

Labonte’s entry in the Paramount Health Insurance 200 will again team him
with longtime NASCAR friend and racing rival, Dennis Setzer. Setzer is the
full-time driver of the No. 46 MDM Chevrolet Silverado.
“Dennis is a good friend,?? Labonte continued. “He and I had some great
battles back in the late ‘80's at Caraway Speedway. We were rivals, but very
friendly rivals. I think people tried to make it a bigger rivalry than it was,
like we hated each other or something like that. That wasn't true at all. All
the times I raced him, I don't think he ever touched me or I ever touched him.
It was just good, clean racing that was a lot of fun. So, we’ve always
raced each other close, but clean.??
Practice for the June 18, 2005 Paramount Health Insurance 200 at Michigan
will begin at noon on Friday, June 17, 2005 with the first one-hour practice
session. The NCTS final practice will be from 2:50 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.
Qualifying for the 36-truck starting field will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June
18, 2005. The 100-lap, 200-mile race will take the green flag at 3:15 p.m.
Saturday afternoon. PEE Channel will provide live television coverage
starting at 3:00 p.m. with radio coverage on MRN Radio and XM Satellite Radio.
