Speedemissions Announces Letter of Intent to Acquire Just Inc.; Letter of Intent Involves Acquisition of 9 New Utah Locations
ATLANTA--June 14, 2005--Speedemissions, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SPEM), a leading vehicle emissions testing and safety inspections company, today announced it signed a non-binding letter of intent for the acquisition of Just Inc., a company that operates emission testing centers under the name Just Emissions & Inspections. Just Inc. has nine (9) testing locations in Salt Lake City, Utah, where the company has been one of the premier emission testing companies in the market for over ten years. This would be Speedemissions' first acquisition in 2005 and the sixth since it began its acquisition growth strategy in January 2004. As the Company continues to aggressively pursue its unique business model of blending strategic acquisitions in selected market areas with selected organic growth opportunities, it expects to make additional purchases of emission testing companies in the remainder of 2005.
Rich Parlontieri, President/CEO of Speedemissions stated, "This acquisition would be significant for two reasons. First, it would get us into the Salt Lake City market, thereby expanding our geographic coverage to operations in three states, Georgia, Texas and Utah. Next, it could potentially add an additional $2.5 million in revenue to our previously released 2005 forecast of $5 million. We remain focused on growing our business having previously reported a 2004 revenue increase of 368% to $2,867,921, up from $612,948 in 2003. We're confident that if closed, the acquisition of Just Inc. will not only continue to rapidly accelerate our top line growth, but it will also assist us in our goal of achieving profitability."
