RLPTechnologies Selects DataFlux to Build High-Quality Automotive Information; Subsidiary of R.L. Polk & Co. Chooses Enterprise Capabilities of DataFlux Solutions

CARY, N.C.--June 13, 2005--DataFlux(R), a leading provider of data quality integration solutions, today announced that RLPTechnologies, a research and development subsidiary of R. L. Polk & Co., has selected DataFlux(R) solutions to power its data quality and data integration efforts. RLPTechnologies is a technology company specializing in building industry-leading data solutions that serve as the foundation for focused, in-depth research and analysis across multiple industries.

RLPTechnologies integrates data from over 240 sources to present "best in class" automotive market and consumer behavioral data, access systems, interpretive analysis skills and market insight on a global scale. A data integration effort of this scale requires a robust, service-based approach to data quality and data integration. RLPTechnologies also needed a solution that allows business analysts and technical staff to collaborate on the business rules that dictate the quality of information that R. L. Polk & Co. delivers to its client base.

"For our data integration efforts, R. L. Polk & Co. required a technology partner to provide industry-leading data quality capabilities within a high-capacity, service-oriented environment," said Kevin Vasconi, CIO of R. L. Polk & Co. and president of RLPTechnologies. "We considered products from other data quality vendors, but we found DataFlux's technology capabilities - from the front-end DataFlux dfPower(R) Studio application through the sophisticated DataFlux Integration Server - closely matched the needs and requirements of our technology group."

RLPTechnologies chose components from across the DataFlux Data Quality Integration Solution to create an enterprisewide standard for data investigation, improvement and control. After an initial profiling phase to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the data, DataFlux dfPower Studio allows business analysts at RLPTechnologies to quickly build complex data quality and data integration jobs.

Once built, users can replicate the same jobs throughout the IT environment with the DataFlux Integration Server, a data quality and data integration hub that allows companies to implement both batch and real-time services to control the quality of information. The DataFlux Integration Server uses a service-oriented architecture (SOA) to simplify the deployment of data quality routines across enterprise applications and external data feeds. Initially, RLPTechnologies will integrate the DataFlux solution with TIBCO, the company's enterprise application integration (EAI) platform.

"For information providers like R. L. Polk & Co., a method for delivering consistent, accurate and reliable information is essential to offering a high-quality, competitive product," said Tony Fisher, DataFlux president and general manager. "DataFlux has a long tradition of helping information providers increase the quality - and therefore the value - of their core data sets, allowing them to provide more meaningful and useful services to their client base."
