STOCKTON NEXT UP FOR WESTERN SPRINTS VEENSTRA NOTCHES 1ST USAC WIN AT REDWOOD ACRES RACEWAY

JUNE 13, 2005

The USAC Valvoline Western Sprint Car Series now prepares for
a June 25 race at the Stockton (Calif.) 99 Speedway, with Kody Swanson of
Kingsburg, Calif. heading the series standings.

Swanson finished second to Cody Veenstra of Emmett, Idaho in
Saturday night's 40-lapper at Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka, Calif. and
holds a 19-point edge over two-time series champion Tony Hunt going into
the Stockton race.

The victory was the first in the series for Veenstra, whose
father Rick won the 1985 USAC Idaho Supermodified Championship. He led all
but the first lap of the race.

Lady driver Shauna Hogg led the opening lap but finished
ninth. Trailing Veenstra and Swanson were Michael Trimble, fast qualifier
