Hyundai Forms New Information Technology Unit
Hyundai Information Service North America Will Serve Hyundai and Kia
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 8 -- Hyundai today announced the formation of a new company in the U.S. designed to provide information technology services for all Hyundai and Kia affiliates in the United States and Canada. The new company is called Hyundai Information Service North America (HISNA).
"Combining the assets of both Hyundai and Kia into one effective unit will allow us to provide superior IT support and investment advantages for both companies," said Rich Hoffman, who was named Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Information Service North America. "This is another significant example of Hyundai Kia Automotive Group's commitment to the United States market, and prepares us to better meet the information technology demands of this fast-growing company."
Hoffman served as the director of information technology for Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Motor Finance Company before his appointment to CEO of HISNA.
Hyundai Information Service North America, currently operating from Kia Motors America headquarters in Irvine, Calif., will relocate to the new Kia Motors America headquarters in Irvine, Calif., when the facility opens in the fall of 2006. HISNA employs 113 full-time staff.
