The Wall Street Journal Names Walter Hodge District Sales Manager for Detroit Advertising Sales

The Wall Street Journal, the world's leading business publication, today announced that it has appointed Walter Hodge, 41, district sales manager, Detroit advertising sales. He will report to David Forgione, advertising sales director-Eastern region, The Wall Street Journal.
In this new role, Mr. Hodge will be managing the Detroit sales staff, with responsibility for overseeing automotive clients. Mr. Hodge and his team will be selling advertising not only for The Wall Street Journal, but also for the flagship newspaper's upcoming Weekend Edition, The Wall Street Journal Online, and other Dow Jones properties.
"Walter's winning, enthusiastic personality--as well as his intense competitiveness and his desire to have the team succeed--is what we needed in this important assignment," Mr. Forgione said. "These qualities, along with his proven experience in both the b-to-b segment of our industry and the automotive category, make him the ideal candidate to lead the Detroit office."
Until he assumed his current responsibilities, Mr. Hodge served as global sales manager, The Journal Report, since November 2003. Mr. Hodge first joined Dow Jones & Company as a circulation sales representative in the Boston circulation department of the Journal, where he worked from 1989 to 1990. During his career, he also has held various sales and management positions with Primedia, Hearst and Ziff Davis.
Mr. Hodge earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Campbell University in Buis Creek, North Carolina.
