NVLA Presents Jerry Frick of Ford Motor Co. with the Samuel J. Lee
Memorial Award
PHILADELPHIA--June 3, 2005--The National Vehicle Leasing
Association (NVLA) presented Jerry Frick, Director of Corporate and
Government Sales Operations for Ford Motor Company's North American Fleet
Operations, with its Samuel J. Lee Memorial Award at the association's
2005 Annual Conference and Exposition in Orlando, Florida. The Samuel J.
Lee Memorial Award salutes lifetime achievement and significant, lasting
contributions to the vehicle leasing industry by a non-lessor. Since it
was established in 1985, the award has been presented to only 13
recipients
In presenting the award, Jerry Duffy, Vice President at Jefferson Leasing
in Crofton, MD, and Chairman of NVLA's Manufacturers Relations Committee,
described Frick as "Mr. Professional: polished, well-spoken and smart."
Said Duffy: "Jerry Frick came along at a time when relations between
lessors and manufacturers were not good. He asked questions, he listened,
he explained, he shared, and he wore down our ire and resentment. He has
always appreciated and supported us."
Accepting the award, Frick reflected on his years in the automotive
industry and his decade-long association with NVLA. "There are a lot of
rewards when you've been in the auto industry as long as I have," said
Frick. "Ford respects NVLA as we partner to serve our final end-user
customers. We understand how important independent lessors are to our
distribution network. You go where our dealers don't, and we appreciate
your support."
