DaimlerChrysler Hosts Dynamic Demonstration of its Commitment to America During Two-Day Washington Event

World Premier Concept Car to be Unveiled

WASHINGTON, June 2 -- DaimlerChrysler will host a dynamic demonstration of its commitment to America during a two-day Washington event.

  WHAT:   Please join DaimlerChrysler, the world's largest automotive
          employer, in the nation's capitol for a unique demonstration of
          its commitment to America and its leadership in technological
          innovation.  Media will have access to company leaders as well as
          exciting concept and production vehicles, including vehicles
          making world and North America premieres.  Highlighted events
          include:

          * Opening Ceremony and DaimlerChrysler Day celebration featuring
            Independence, USA, a model town being constructed inside the
            Washington Convention Center to physically show the company's
            reach into American life.
            * Monday, June 6, Noon, Washington Convention Center,
              Exhibit Hall A

          * Manufacturing and Public Policy Symposium -- A bipartisan panel
            featuring several high-profile panelists, including the
            governors from Michigan, Ohio and Alabama, will discuss
            competitiveness issues affecting manufacturing investment and
            job retention/creation in the automotive industry, which
            accounts for 6.6 million jobs nationwide.
            * Monday, June 6, 2:00 p.m., Washington Convention Center,
              Room 151

          * Concept Car World Premiere and Innovation Symposium -- The
            vehicle showcases a whole new approach to innovation in
            automotive engineering and design, encourages increased safety
            technology and promotes reduced emissions and improved fuel
            economy.  The Innovation Symposium offers an in-depth look at
            key topics affecting the industry, including hybrid and diesel
            technology, safety innovations among others.
            * Tuesday, June 7, 9:00 a.m., Washington Convention Center,
              Exhibit Hall A

          * Ride and Drive allowing behind-the-wheel experience in a number
            of DaimlerChrysler vehicles, including the Mercedes-Benz E500
            equipped with radar sensors to avoid collisions and the Dodge
            Durango equipped with vehicle-to-vehicle communications to warn
            drivers of dangerous conditions
            * Tuesday, June 7, 12:45 p.m., buses will depart the Washington
              Convention Center for FedEx Field.  Continuous shuttles will
              also be available throughout the day.

  WHY:    To Demonstrate DaimlerChrysler's commitment to the United States
          and showcase its technological innovations.

          * Business unit leaders and executives from Mercedes-Benz,
            Chrysler, Jeep(R), Dodge, Freightliner, Orion, Thomas Built,
            Detroit Diesel, GEM, and DaimlerChrysler Services

          * Research engineers developing solutions for accident-free and
            emission-free vehicles of the future

          * Governors Granholm (D-Mich.), Taft (R-Ohio) and Riley (R-Ala.)
            will be available Monday only
