NASCAR Busch Series Crew Chief Fined for Fuel-Filler Infraction

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 2, 2005) – NASCAR announced today that Charlie Lewis, crew chief for the No. 25 Ford driven by Ashton Lewis Jr. in the NASCAR Busch Series, has been fined $500 for a rule infraction that occurred last week at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C.

During the race weekend’s first inspection process, on May 26, the No. 25 was found to have an unapproved fuel filler. That violated Section 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and Section 12-4-Q (car, car parts, components and/or equipment that do not conform to NASCAR rules) of the NASCAR Busch Series rule book.
