Terry Borcheller - Watkins Glen 6h preview

chasing eight

Terry Borcheller has reason to celebrate the Rolex Sports Car Series' three
races at Watkins Glen International this season. The Gainesville, Ga.,
driver has already earned five poles and seven victories on the New York
road course. He will be gunning for success in the June 12 six-hour race on
the track's 3.37-mile grand prix circuit.

Borcheller will drive the No. 54 Bell Motorsports/Feeds the Need
Pontiac-powered Doran JE4 with car owner Forest Barber of Fort Worth, Tex.,
and Ralf Kelleners of Dusseldorf, Germany. Borcheller is looking forward to
racing a new-and-improved car.

"I love the track, and the full course is a great place to have a six-hour
race. It's always a great race; it's always a great show," he said. "We've
had some updates done to the car at Doran, which should help the handling
and lower the weight a little bit. That was kind of a forced improvement
from my off at Mont-Tremblant [testing for the previous race]. It's an
update with the suspension that we've been wanting to do."

NASCAR view

As the race calendar hits mid-season, Borcheller reflected on the support he
has received from both personal and team sponsors. "A big thank-you to my
sponsors K&N Performance Filters, Bondurant School of High Performance
Driving and Alpinestars. It's midway through the season and we really
appreciate your support, couldn't do it without you," he said.

He noted an interesting perspective from team sponsor Kodak EasyShare:
"Every day, the Rolex Series is becoming more like NASCAR in that it's very
competitive. To finish in the top-10 is a huge accomplishment. The folks
from Kodak have been great to work with. With their NASCAR involvement, they
know that just being in the show is a huge deal, and finishing in the top-10
is an added bonus and a great accomplishment."

test work

Borcheller will participate in an aerodynamic test with a Saleen S7R on June
7 and 8, en route to the Watkins Glen race.
