Hyundai Sales Set New Record for May 2005
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 1 -- Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 40,416 vehicles for the month, which represents the best May sales in company history. Leading the way were the Elantra followed by the Sonata. The new Tucson SUV, named segment leader in the recent 2005 Strategic Vision Total Quality Study, set a single-month sales record with 5,723 sales.
"Despite the challenging automotive sales environment, we continue to set all-time sales records month-over-month," said Hyundai's Vice-President, National Sales Ed Bradley. "Consumers are responding positively to the Grand Opening of our all-new $1.1 billion manufacturing plant in Montgomery, Alabama earlier this month, and the introduction of our completely redesigned 2006 Sonata which is the first Hyundai vehicle to be built in the U.S."
"We are excited about our potential sales growth in June with the arrival of an increasing number of the all-new Sonata in our dealerships," Bradley continued.
All Hyundai cars and sport utility vehicles sold in the U.S. are covered by The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty. Hyundai buyers are protected by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 7-year/unlimited-mile anti-perforation warranty and 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance protection.
