Nissan North America Selects i2 Solutions to Help Enable Business Agility

DALLAS--May 31, 2005--i2 Technologies, Inc. (OTC:ITWH), a leading provider of demand-driven supply chain solutions designed to enable business agility, announced today that Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) a division of global automaker Nissan Motor Company, Ltd., selected i2 solutions in the fourth quarter of 2004 to help enable business agility.

NNA selected i2 Factory Planner and i2 Master Data Management with a goal of gaining greater business agility through improved planning and data management. NNA goals include developing an improved scheduling process and inventory management capabilities.

i2 Factory Planner is designed to allow companies to more precisely manage key manufacturing variables, from work center capacity and setup times to materials and labor availability, due dates and corporate production policies. It is built on the principles of lean manufacturing and constraint-based planning, to get the best throughput and customer service levels at the lowest inventory level and cost.

i2 Master Data Management is designed to create a single enterprise thesaurus that can ensure data is consistently described, used, and stored within an organization. This approach can create a framework through which data is authored, monitored and maintained, and ensure the coordination of business systems that touch the data. i2 MDM can be deployed to create and maintain application-specific data, and consolidate data from multiple disparate systems to cleanse, transform and validate data, and filter unwanted data.

NNA's selection of i2 now means that six of the top seven global automotive OEMs as ranked by Fortune magazine in 2004 are i2 customers. In addition, it brings to 19 the number of i2 customers ranked among the AMR Research Top 25 Global Supply Chains.

"It is gratifying to know that industry leaders such as Nissan continue to put their trust in i2 solutions," said i2 chairman Sanjiv Sidhu. "Nissan is an industry leader that truly understands the important role technology can play in achieving supply chain excellence. It is companies like Nissan that continue to drive us to develop and deliver solutions built on industry best practices, allowing us to help companies around the world become more agile."
