CRA SPRINTS HEAD TO KINGS SATURDAY
KRUSEMAN ENDS GARDNER'S STREAK AT 4 AT THE PAS
Rip Williams of Yorba Linda, Calif. leads the Valvoline
USAC/CRA Sprint Cars to Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif. this Saturday
night, but Cory Kruseman and Damion Gardner shared the headlines in last
Saturday's action at Perris, Calif.
Kruseman, of Ventura, Calif. won the 50-lap race at Perris
Auto Speedway, leading the final 24 laps to beat R.J. Johnson, Williams,
Mike Kirby and David Cardey. Williams led the first 26 laps.
The victory halted Damion Gardner's four-race winning streak.
Gardner was involved in a minor tangle early in the race and later spun,
eventually finishing 10th.
Williams holds a 34 point lead over Gardner and is 50 ahead of
Kruseman entering Saturday night's competition at the 3/8-mile Hanford oval.
Gardner won both CRA features at Hanford last year. Williams
recorded a second and a fourth in 2004, while Kruseman, in his only 2004
Kings start, was third.
