WHCC 105.1 Night

Sprint Cars - O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. Modifieds - Tire & Wheel Center Super Stocks

BLOOMINGTON, IN (May 29, 2005) - On Friday night, June 3, the good folks from WHCC 105.1 will be joining us for for an evening of racing excitement. You never can tell what they'll bring with them; but you can be certain that it will add fun to the festivities.

Going into Friday night's racing, Jon Sciscoe holds a razor thin one point lead over Kevin Besecker and three points over Kevin Briscoe. Kent Christian is just one point further back. The top four cars are separated by only four points. Since the Sheldon Kinser Memorial is the following weekend, you can be certain that the top area teams will be doing everything within their power to get to Bloomington Speedway to get some laps on the red clay before the Sheldon Kinser Memorial.

In the O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. modified division, Jesse Cramer holds an eleven point lead over Gary Barrow. J.P. Hume, John DeMoss, and Shelby Miles make up the balance of the top five.

In the Tire & Wheel Center super stock division Danny Harris has an 18 point lead over Steve Sutliff and Brad Cummings. Randy Howe and Ben DuBois are three and four points further back.

With the rainouts that we've had so far, the season has been compressed into fewer shows. That will make each race that much more important in the battles for the division championships.

Bloomington Speedway is committed to providing the best motorsports entertainment every Friday night. The red clay for which we are famous assures a competitor who has trouble early in the evening a fair shot of moving up to take a good finish later in the evening. The track is the great equalizer. Join us on June 3 to see which drivers are leading us into June.

Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $10 for this event; and pit admission is $20. Children are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult. Overnight camping is permitted. Coolers are allowed; but no glass containers please.

17TH ANNUAL SHELDON KINSER MEMORIAL

SPRINT CARS

$3000 TO WIN PLUS LAP PRIZE MONEY

PLUS - O'NEAL WOOD PRODUCTS/MONROE COUNTY PIZZA DEPT. OPEN WHEEL MODIFIEDS,

AND TIRE & WHEEL CENTER SUPER STOCKS

BLOOMINGTON, IN (May 29, 2005) - No place is more appropriate for a memorial to Sheldon Kinser than the famous red clay oval that is Bloomington Speedway. Most fans remember Sheldon for the daring that he displayed on race tracks from coast to coast. He raced on tracks from quarter mile bull rings in sprints and midgets to mile dirt ovals in USAC champ dirt cars (now Silver Crown) to the superspeedways where he competed with the best in champ cars.

The Sheldon Kinser Memorial is one of the premier sprint car races of the season every year.

Most of the drivers who will be in competition on June 10, never raced against Sheldon Kinser. In fact, it is likely that the majority of them never saw Sheldon race. However, there are a number of drivers who appreciate the history of this race and the driver in whose honor it is run.

Of course, Kevin Briscoe cherishes his previous Sheldon Kinser Memorial trophies; but he'd certainly like to add another to the two that he already has. Bryan Clauson, Kent Christian, Dick Gaines II, Kevin "Pup" Huntley all would like to add their name to the prestigious list of Sheldon Kinser Memorial winners. Although he doesn't have a steady ride this season, some savvy car owner might well hire Derek Sheffel, Bloomington Speedway's only four time champion, to drive the Sheldon Kinser Memorial for them. Of course, defending Sheldon Kinser Memorial champion Shane Cottle has to believe that he can repeat.

As if there weren't enough Bloomington Speedway regulars after the title, the USAC sprint division is idle on the tenth; and it is almost certain that a number of their stars will show up to try to grab the big money away from the local stars.

In addition to the sprints, the O'Neal Wood Products open wheel modifieds and the Tire & Wheel Centers super stocks will also be in competition that night. They will be running for $600 to win with proper decals.

Don't miss this great race. General Admission is only $15 While pit admission is $25. Kids 12 and under are admitted to the grandstand free with a paying adult. Parking and overnight camping are free. Coolers are allowed; but glass containers are prohibited.

Pit gates open at 4:30 PM; and the grandstand opens at 5:30 PM. Hot Laps begin at 6:30 PM; and racing begins at 7:30 PM. BE THERE!
