Lebanon Valley Speedway - Double Duty Next Week For All!

Valley comes up short, Double Duty Next Week For All!
-By: Rodney Rescott
Saturday May 28, 2005: Wastequip Industries and Speed’s Garage had a full
Memorial Weekend Spectacular lined up at Lebanon Valley Speedway, but Mother
Nature had other plans.
A full card of events was on tap, but the rains came just before the
Sportsman Consolation race was about to take to the speedway. For the Holiday
weekend crowd on hand, it wasn’t a total “wash-out??. All four Pure Stock events
were completed, as well as the Pro Stock, Sportsman, and Modified heats
before the untimely end.
With all the qualifying heats under their belts, it’s going to be
double-duty next Saturday, June 4th! This is one week you won’t want to miss.
The Pure Stocks did, as always, put on some spectacular side-by-side racing.
Ray Hall Sr. took home the victory in the P.S. #1, followed by Shannon
McDermott, Justin Herron, Dave Houser, and Don Coon. Pure Stock #2 saw a three
car battle, with Bob Palmer crossing the checkers first, with Larry Ball,
Marcus Tift, “Kaptain?? Kirk Stanaway, and John Chapman hot on his heals. Not
to be outdone, P.S. #3 looked like a runaway for veteran Pete Wiegand, but a
parts failure sidelined him from the action, handing the lead and the win over
to Al Relyea, followed closely by Richard Puff, Jon Routhier, Chrissy Hilt,
and Matt Humes. Pete DeFiglio battled back from an early race “spin cycle??
to cap off the night with a victory in the Pure Stock #4 event. Nipping at
his back bumper was Dave Stickles, followed by Joe Landry, Howard Madsen, and
Eric Sbrega rounded out the top 5.
Next week, Keybank, and Wohrle’s present a full night of racing action.
Included in the night’s normal schedule of racing will be a special Sportsman
Topless Night, as well as a 4 cylinder shootout. As mentioned earlier, double
features for all classes, including: Rookies, Pro Stocks, Sportsman, and of
course the cars and stars of the Big Block Modifieds.
Carquest® presents The World Of Outlaws Racing Series®, this Monday, May
30th at Lebanon Valley Speedway. The Greatest Show on Dirt will be
accompanied by your stars in the Big Block Modifieds for a full night on racing action!
Be sure to get there early, because you don’t want to miss these Winged
Warriors slinging some dirt at neck-breaking speeds at the Valley of Speed!
Admission is just $24.00, and All Seats Are Reserved. Gates open at 5pm,
Time Trials at 6pm, and the Heats start at 7pm!
