Bloomington Speedway -- May 27, 2005 Rainout

BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY 2

WEATHERMAN 5

Bloomington Speedway Rained Out Again

BLOOMINGTON, IN (May 28, 2005) - Hope springs eternal. The weatherman said that there was a 30% chance of rain all day Friday. We got a light shower in the afternoon; and the sun came out. We thought, "Well, there's our thirty per cent. We should be good to go for tonight."

With joy in his heart, Mike Miles went to work completing the process of manicuring the track as only he can. It looked as if we might finally get another race in. It was clear that Mike had a good track even for him. It would have been a stupendous track almost anywhere else. The track was lightning fast. Bryan Clauson's time of 11.066 was just a tick off of Kevin Briscoe's track record; and only two cars were outside of the eleven second bracket.

The program was moving along nicely. All of the heat races were in the books; and we were ready to start the "B" features when the rains came. The rain teased us by falling lightly at first. However, before long, it was heavier and ever widening puddles were forming on our cherished red clay. It was clear that we would have to wait another week for the Bloomington Speedway season to resume.

Plan on joining us next Friday night when the good folks from WHCC 105.1 will join us for another great evening of racing. There is no telling what these folks will bring with them to add to the festivities; but you can bet that it will be fun. For our part, we'll have sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept modifieds, and the Tire & Wheel Center super stocks in competition.
