Alberici Named Safest Contractor in 'Heavy Construction' by Associated General Contractors
National award cites Alberici's commitment to safety and health
DETROIT, May 27 -- Alberici Constructors was recently awarded the national AGC/Willis 2003 and 2004 Construction Safety Excellence Award in the "Heavy Construction, Over One Million Work Hours" category. Award recipients are chosen for their commitment and approach to safety and health issues, as well as statistical results measured throughout the year.
"More than half of these safety hours were recorded from our automotive construction projects and it underscores our focus on safety as a top Alberici priority in the global automotive business," Paul Lemley, Great Lakes Region, Senior Vice President in Detroit said.
"We are honored that the AGC has selected Alberici to receive this award," said Jim Stone, vice president, safety and risk management, Alberici Constructors, Inc. "Working safely is our number one priority at Alberici, and we are very proud of our safety record. To be selected for this national award means a great deal to our organization," said Stone.
This year's finalists for the AGC/Willis Construction Safety Excellence Awards had to achieve zero work site fatalities and zero multi-catastrophic injuries. In addition, finalists were required to make a presentation of their safety program to an independent panel of judges consisting of owner representatives and insurance brokers.
